A space for you.
Therapy offers different things to different people. For some, it's a safe space where they can share what's on their mind and truly feel understood. Others come with certain experiences or challenges they’d like to explore, or want to better understand themselves and their relationships. Sometimes, people feel that life is just 'too much' and feel overwhelmed, stressed or stuck, without knowing exactly what they need. Whatever brings you to therapy, we can take the time to understand it together.
About me
I’m Sarah, a warm and compassionate therapist who offers a non-judgemental space where you can begin to make sense of whatever is happening in your life. I listen with care and curiosity, taking time to truly understand what has brought you to therapy. With a gentle and honest approach, I support you to explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences at a pace that feels comfortable for you.
With over 20 years experience of teaching and leading in schools, and a SEN specialism, I'm a strong advocate for neurodivergent pupils and their families. I'm neurodivergent myself and find that my lived experience of ADHD helps me to provide a safe, inclusive space where people feel understood and free to be themselves.

My therapy approach
I take inspiration from the wisdom of the natural world. Just as nature can soothe the nervous system and invite reflection, therapy creates space to slow down and reconnect with yourself, your inner wisdom, and what you need from life.

Safe, trusting relationship
The relationship you have with yourself, and others, can have a big impact on your wellbeing. The relationship in the therapy room is no different and can provide the safety, trust and understanding needed for difficult experiences to be explored. Connecting with this level of unwavering care and support can be incredibly healing, often unlocking new insight and personal growth.

Integrative therapy
Part of how I work, explores how our past can shape our experiences and relationships in the present. For example, if our role early on was to please people and ignore our own needs, we can unconsciously end up falling into this role again and it might not be what we need now. Building an awareness of these patterns, can deepen our understanding of ourselves and others, and open up future choices.

Tailored to your needs
I have deep respect for the wisdom that a client holds about their own life and what they need from therapy. No single approach will suit everyone, so I tailor sessions to match individual needs. I work in partnership with clients, guided by what feels important to them. However, I have training in a range of models (such as Internal Family Systems, attachment, inner child work) so I integrate what feels most helpful for each person.

Creative approach
I offer creative therapy approaches, including sand therapy, which provides a different way to express yourself or experiences, particularly when it's hard to find the words for these. It can bring unconscious thoughts and feelings into awareness, opening up new opportunities for insight and healing. However, clients decide if this approach is helpful for them.

Get in touch
Finding the right therapist for you is really important! We're all so different and need different things from a therapist. When choosing who to work with, it can be useful to have an initial consultation with a few therapists to see who you feel most at ease with. Therapy is an investment in yourself so be choosy-remember it's a privilege to work with you!
I offer a free phone/online call (up to 20 minutes) to explore what you’re looking for from therapy and to see how we might work together. You can get in touch by using the contact form, or by sending an email or text. I may be with clients or unable to take a phone call but will endeavor to get back to you as soon as I can, if you leave a message.
I usually offer weekly or fortnightly in-person sessions from my therapy space in Barrow upon Soar, as well as online sessions for those who prefer to meet remotely.
